Dean has been in the construction business since he was 15 years old. At 15, he started working on a roofing crew, then worked for a custom builder doing clean up and drywall work. After moving to the Dallas area, Dean again worked for a custom home builder as an assistant to the superintendent, then moved on to work with the framing crew. Dean extended his hands-on construction experience with a remodeling company as a framer and other construction disciplines, then for a large apartment building company as an assistant superintendent. Dean then became a proficient and skilled trim carpenter for a custom home trim company prior to catching the entrepreneurial spirit and launching his own trim and remodeling company. With all of this hands-on experience under his belt, the natural progression in his career was to take ownership of the entire building process and became a new home custom builder. Dean went to Texas Tech with the goal of becoming an architect. Ended up with a technical certification in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, and began building houses in the Lake Ray Hubbard community, beginning with his own, in the early 1990's. When you contract with Dean Cathey as your builder, you get 40+ years of actual construction experience, not a glorified project manager whose construction experience consists of managing subcontractors. Why is this important to you? Because Dean is on your construction site almost daily, and very little escapes his attention. He has the respect of his subcontractors, many of whom have worked for Dean for over 25 years.

Caleb has been "building" since he played with blocks, working alongside Dean, and building wood projects in his grandfather's shop. While attending college, Caleb worked at a large local lighting and hardware store meeting with customers, doing take-offs, assisting area builders, hanging fixtures, and re-keying locks. Caleb worked for Eric Davis Engineering for three years learning the construction industry first-hand, both behind the computer designing post-tension foundations and shear wall design as well as experience in the field. Caleb occupied the Dean's list every year in college, making the President's List his senior year. Upon graduation from Texas A&M Commerce with a Construction Engineering degree, Caleb joined the Dean Cathey Custom Homes team as a Construction Manager. You'll see Caleb as often as you see Dean on job sites. He's responsible for quality-control inspections, managing subcontractors and juggling schedules. Caleb has also been busy lately building his own custom home in Poetry, Texas.

Beth graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene with a degree in Advertising (but we're not talking about what year that was).
